Welcome to the Spring 2016 Youth Lacrosse League, and thanks for registering your player(s)! The NLLA is very exciting about starting youth lacrosse again in St. John’s and are committed to delivering a great lacrosse experience to the kids. Our league will run May 16 – June 30 at the Capital Hyundai Arena.
All of the details surrounding team assignments and schedules have been posted to www.nllacrosse.ca under the Spring 2016 Youth League tab. Please check the site to find out what team your player(s) are on and what nights they will be practicing/playing. In the event of any change to the schedule, we will keep the website up to date.
On the website you will also see the contact rules and equipment requirements for the different divisions. In summary, only the Midget division will involve cross-checking, and therefore the players in Midget will require kidney pads and bicep pads in addition to the standard equipment. All other divisions will not involve cross-checking, and therefore kidney pads and bicep pads are not required, but certainly recommended for the Bantam and PeeWee divisions.
As we progress through the season, we will be using email and www.nllacrosse.ca as our primary communication tools, so please remember to check the website regularly. Also, we will be posting game statistics across all divisions, so encourage your kids to check the website as well.
In case anyone is still looking for a lacrosse stick, the NLLA has a supply of great sticks that are being sold for $25 – if you were to buy these sticks from a sports store it would cost approximately $50.
The NLLA Executive will be present at Capital Hyundai Arena during each of the sessions wearing a Norsemen game jersey. Please feel free to approach any of us with ask any questions you may have. If you would prefer, you can always reach us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Looking forward to a great season of Lacrosse!
See you Monday or Tuesday.
